A note from The Kings Road Connect Engagement Team
Introduction to the Kings Road Connect project
Good afternoon,
I hope you’re well.
I am getting in touch to introduce you to the Kings Road Connect project that is being brought forward by Bradford Council, in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
We are holding a public consultation on the proposals from 9am Monday 3 February 2025 until 11.59pm Sunday 16 March 2025.
Kings Road is a vital route in and out of Bradford. Up to 14,000 vehicles use the route each day, causing congestion and delays at peak times. As a result, public transport struggles to offer a reliable service and facilities for walking, wheeling, and cycling are poor. This makes the route difficult to use for many, with local people hit the hardest.
We are proposing to make improvements to a 2-mile stretch of Kings Road from Five Lane Ends to Canal Road. The improvements will include:
· New bus lanes and bus priority at key junctions
· Improvements to bus stops with new shelters
· New cycle lanes
· Widened pavements and new crossings
· Reduced speed limits
· Formalised parking arrangements
· Improvements to public spaces.

From 9am on Monday 3 February, you can explore the full plans and have your say via our online survey: www.yourvoice.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/kings-road-connect
